In 1969 a small group of young Atlanta businessmen, who were single at the time, realized they had no one special with whom to share the joy of Christmas. So they sought out local families with small children who were less fortunate than themselves. They found out what the kids really wished for, went shopping, and then visited their homes on Christmas day bearing neatly wrapped gifts. The experience was so emotionally and personally rewarding that they began to tell their friends. By the next holiday season they had created an organized group of dedicated and caring individuals.

Over the years GOBeyond Charities' premier event, the Holiday Gala, has provided thousands of needy children with gifts.  Members and their guests receive a specific wish list from a child in need.  Bringing these gifts to the event is the price of admission for an evening of celebration, dinner, and dancing.
